Where business contact details come from
We use publicly available business information, such as company websites, business directories and professional networking profiles, to identify relevant companies and business contacts. This can include a name, role, company and work email address.
Public availability does not remove your privacy rights. Contact Peter Black at hello@neotiqa.com if you would like to know the source of your details or ask about how we use them.
If our email mentioned your domain
Some of our introductions refer to something we noticed about a company’s email domain. Those observations come only from public DNS records, which anyone can look up: whether an SPF record exists and how many lookups it uses, whether a DMARC record is published and what policy it requests, and whether the DKIM selectors commonly used by Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace are present.
We have not accessed your systems, read any mailbox or sent test messages to your users. A public DNS check is one input, not an assessment, and it does not tell us whether your email is reaching the inbox. If you would like the detail behind an observation, reply to the email or contact us and we will explain what we saw.
The basis for business introductions
Where we use personal information for relevant business introductions, we rely on legitimate interests under the UK GDPR when our assessment supports it. Our interest is introducing our services to businesses with relevant sales, marketing or IT functions. We must consider whether the use is necessary and whether the individual’s rights and reasonable expectations outweigh that interest.
PECR has different rules for different recipients. Marketing emails to corporate subscribers, such as limited companies and limited liability partnerships, do not generally require consent under PECR. The sender must still be identified and provide a way to opt out.
Sole traders, some partnerships and other individual subscribers normally require prior consent or a valid soft opt-in. Simply finding an address online does not meet those requirements. Legitimate interests does not replace consent where PECR requires it.
